By creating an account, browsing lessons, or using any feature of LinCaden, you enter into a binding agreement with us under these Terms of Use.

These terms may be updated periodically. Your continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

LinCaden is an online language learning platform that provides dictation exercises, listening practice, and shadowing activities. The service includes audio lessons sourced from YouTube and other content, instant feedback on your responses, progress tracking, and a leaderboard for community motivation.

We strive to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without prior notice.

You can create an account using Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activities that occur under your account.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep your profile information up to date.

You may not create multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboard rankings or exploit the platform. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this rule.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

You agree to use LinCaden only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others.

You will not attempt to cheat, manipulate scores, or artificially inflate your leaderboard ranking. All progress data submitted by clients is validated server-side, and we actively detect and reverse fraudulent activity.

You will not post abusive, defamatory, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate content in comments or reports.

You will not attempt to access, modify, or disrupt the service's infrastructure, database, or APIs.

You will not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to scrape content or interact with the service in ways that exceed normal human usage.

You retain ownership of content you create on LinCaden, including comments, notes, and error reports.

By posting content on LinCaden, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content within the platform for the purpose of operating the service.

You are solely responsible for the content you post. You must not post content that violates copyright, contains personal information of others without consent, or is unlawful.

We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove user-generated content that violates these terms or is otherwise inappropriate. We may also suspend accounts of repeat offenders.

LinCaden owns all lesson content, including transcripts, exercises, audio alignments, translations, and curated collections. This content is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may use lesson content for personal, non-commercial learning purposes only. You may not redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from LinCaden content without our written permission.

Third-party content (such as YouTube videos) remains the property of its respective owners. LinCaden uses such content under fair use and platform terms for educational purposes.

Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract source code or proprietary algorithms from the platform.

Circumventing rate limits, authentication, or other security measures.

Using the service to transmit malware, spam, or other malicious content.

Impersonating another user or misrepresenting your affiliation with LinCaden.

Using the service in violation of applicable laws or regulations.

We reserve the right to terminate access immediately for serious violations and to report illegal activity to authorities.

LinCaden is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of content.

We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times. We are not responsible for data loss caused by browser issues, network failures, or service interruptions.

Educational content on LinCaden is for learning purposes only. We do not guarantee specific learning outcomes or improvements.

Any reliance on third-party services (Google, Supabase, Azure, AI providers) is at your own risk, as their availability and terms may change independently of LinCaden.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LinCaden shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or zero if you have not made any payment.

We are not liable for any content posted by other users or for the conduct of any third-party services integrated with the platform.

We may revise these Terms of Use at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If we make material changes, we will notify you through the platform or by email. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where LinCaden is operated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If resolution is not possible, disputes shall be submitted to the appropriate court of jurisdiction.
